Rift's Patron-only Prime Server Now Live
Rift players, are you ready to party like it's 2011? If so, you've finally got your chance, with today's Rift Prime launch, which opens up a special server for Patrons -- i.e., subscribers -- only.
As we covered previously, the Rift Prime server will make the game feel new again, with a level cap of 50 and "a significantly reduced store" -- which, importantly, includes no loot boxes. The server will include monthly "community challenges" that will reward players with cosmetic items. Future content will be unlocked progressively and when the server "ends," at a date yet to be determined, you'll be able to transfer your character to one of the regular Rift servers.
Trion Worlds CEO Scott Hartsman spoke with PC Games Insider earlier this week to discuss Rift Prime, saying that the team was "blown away" by the positive reactions to the announcement. You can check out the details for Rift Prime on the website or, if you're a patron, hop into the game for yourself right now.
