Rift update 2.4 focuses on endgame, adds 2 new raids, also hairstyles
Rift seems to be redefining the meaning of a "patch" with their latest update. There seriously needs to be a new word for describing an update that's not quite a new expansion, but not a measly patch either. Rift's 2.4 patch named "Beyond Infinity" (we won't talk about how silly that sounds) adds nearly an infinite amount of new content to the MMORPG.
Ok, so maybe not an infinite amount, but with two new raids, a new dungeon, a two-person chronicle, new PvP ranks and perhaps most importantly, new hairstyles, there is an impressive display of new content coming from the 2.4 patch.
As you could have already guessed, the main focus of patch 2.4 falls on Rift's endgame content. A new enemy named Inyr'Kta is preparing to unleash titan-forged colossi against the planes of Telara. In order to stop her, players will need to gain control of the Infinity Gate which sets the stage for the first of two 20-man raids.
Players will fight four raid bosses with the first two able to be chosen in any order. Bosses in the Infinity Gate range from an older Architect robot who has access to radioactive attacks and is largely an add based fight; to Volan who some of you may remember as a world boss from a previous Storm Legion world event.
The second 20-man raid Planebreaker Bastion, will go live shortly after the official 2.4 release and concludes the storyline as players confront Inyr'Kta in order to prevent the construction of a doomsday automaton. Expect there to be many, many magical robots out to kill you.
2.4 also introduces cross-shard instant adventures, something that's been requested from the community for quite some time. The change should now ensure large groups of players are always available for those looking for an adventure.
The patch will officially launch on September 18th, with the aforementioned Planebreaker Bastion raid released soon after. Players interested in reading the full feature list can do so here.
Will you be checking out the new Rift content once 2.4 is released?
