Ride 'Em, Cardboy! Magic: The Gathering Arena's New Set Alchemy: Thunder Junction Is Live
We got a Wild West theme AND digital-only mechanics.
Alchemy: Thunder Junction is now live in Magic: The Gathering Arena.
This new set brings digital-only mechanics to the free-to-play online adaptation of the collectible card game. The expansion brings a Wild West theme, as well as a new mechanic, Heist, which allows players to look at three random nonland cards from an opponent's library, exile one face down, and cast it using any type of mana.
There’s 30 new cards, too! You can get a tour of them plus pointers with content creator Amazonian in this handy video:
To celebrate the launch, MTG Arena is holding the Midweek Magic event, where players can experiment with Alchemy cards in a no-entry fee event called "Into the Future." Also, Premier Draft lets players select cards from the Alchemy set to build 40-card decks and compete for prizes.
