Reset Your Password, Albion Online Players, There's Been A Breach
Alright gang, it's that time again -- particularly if you play Albion Online. It's time to change your password. Over the weekend, Sandbox Interactive discovered a breach in one of their systems, which some nefarious individual did use to gain access to forum user profiles. The information included email addresses associated with the forum users.
They also managed to snag encrypted passwords. While these can't be used to actually log into anything, or -- according to the post in the Albion Online forum -- actually learn the passwords, they do suggest forum users change them anyway. Basically, they figure some of us are super lazy and opted for simple passwords that can be figured out.
As for what they're doing, the dev team has already addressed the issue and are doing some additional work to make sure there's nothing else players have to worry about. Before you ask, there doesn't appear to be anything in the way of in-game compensation "for your troubles" mentioned. But if you want to keep track of what's going on, there is a Forum Vulnerability Discussion Thread going at the moment.
