Remember Rocket Arena, EA's 3v3 Rocket-Powered Shooter? We Didn't Either, And Now It's Closing
Jason and I thought it would last a year, it made it 3, so there's that, at least.
Another closure to announce on top of the closing of Revelation Online announced today.
Rocket Arena, the 3v3 shooter from EA that you probably didn't even remember existed, is closing down on March 21, 2024.
The game quietly disappeared from digital storefronts in November, so this probably isn't all that surprising news, unless you really enjoyed the game. It had a few neat things going for it like the jet-pack movement and verticality, but honestly not being F2P probably hurt this game in the long run.
Seeing as the last meaningful updates to the game were in 2021, the news probably isn't much of a shock...besides how long the game actually DID survive maybe. Jason Winter and I gave the game about a year and it made it almost 3.
Final Strike Games will be moving on to other projects and Rocket Arena will have a few "farewell" events going on if you happen to own the title.
