Remember New World's Plan To Kick Off Aeternum Console Testing Tomorrow? Yeah, It's Been Delayed
Probably not the best of looks... but it's just a beta, right? Right?
The debate continues to rage on regarding the future of New World as it transitions to New World: Aeternum, drops the "MMO" moniker in their advertising, and heads to a console release. Originally, the "confidential" closed beta test was supposed to kick off tomorrow. However, that is no longer the case.
According to a post on their X account, the test is being backed up by 2 weeks and will now kick off on July 25th and run until July 31st. Why? "To ensure we deliver the best possible Console Closed Beta experience," of course.
To ensure we deliver the best possible Console Closed Beta experience, it will now run from July 25 at 9 AM PT through July 31 at 9 AM PT.
Our team is hard at work to welcome you to Aeternum as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. pic.twitter.com/l6Um2qUKfW

The test will still allow PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users to check out the revamped game and its console port, you'll just have to wait a bit longer to actually get in. It does, however, continue Amazon Games' weird trend of delaying things just a day or two before they are supposed to happen.
Do you think the October release date will hold? Let me know what you think below.
