Registration For Elden Ring Nightreign's Upcoming Tech Tests Is Now Open
For now, you'll only be able to select from PS5 or Xbox Series X|S platforms.
The time has come. If you've been following Elden Ring Nightreign since its reveal at The Game Awards this year, it's almost time to get your grubby little hands on the multiplayer co-op RPG. Technical tests are incoming and you can register on the official site right now.
You have until January 20th to get your name in the pool of hopeful testers. The registration form is pretty basic and only requires your email, which console you prefer (PS5 or Xbox Series X|S), and your region. It takes longer for you to get the "email verification" email than it does to fill out the registration form. At least that was the case for my registration.
Make sure to peek at the test schedule before signing up, though, as the tests will be running over the course of 5 different sessions in mid-February with each test period being only 3 hours long.
February 14th gets tests at 3 AM and 7 PM PT, February 15th gets 1 test starting at 11 AM PT, and February 16th sees two final tests at 3 AM and 7 PM PT.
The testing content will not be the entire game, so don't expect to team up with friends and blaze your way though everything the game has to offer. These tests are more about stressing the network than anything else.
While the official announcement does advise that this test is for consoles only, it does not advise when/if there will be a future PC test. Also not mentioned, curiously, is if a character or progress will be saved between testing sessions or if you have to start over in each session. We'll have to wait and see on that, I guess.
After registering, make sure to read our latest article reviewing an interview with the Elden Ring Nightreign team and review some of the content and monetization choices they've made and why. Intersting content!
