Redfall Gets Its Offline Mode And Other Additions In What Is Likely The Game's Last Major Update
Offline mode, pausing, and a few bits of new content.
The "end" of major updates to Redfall came as no surprise in and of itself, but it did come quickly as Microsoft announced the closure of multiple studios, including Redfall's Arkane Austin studio. While the shooter won't be getting any new content, including some promised content that the team will be passing out credit for (still not detailed at this time), one last major update was teased, and that update is now available.
The largest feature added is the game's new offline mode. This gives you the ability to play totally offline or be dropped into a solo offline mode if you're playing online and get disconnected. When playing in single player mode, you'll also now be able to pause Redfall.
There's a few additional improvements and additions added in GU4.
A new "Community Standing" reputation bar has been unlocked. Helping the citizens of Redfall by saving them, unlocking safehouses, and performing other helpful deeds nets you standing. Rise through 6 ranks of Community Standing to earn additional rewards that serve as permanent buffs.
Players can now take on Elder Nests and, should you emerge victorious against these elder bosses, you'll be rewarded with temporary buffs.
While there won't be full patch notes for this update, you can check out the team's short post detailing each feature and mentioning a new Unrivaled Weapon and AI improvements that the update brings to Redfall.
