Reach For The Sky! Altitude Goes Free-to-Play
I haven't played Nimbly Games' Altitude, but from just glancing at its gameplay, I get the feeling it's a souped-up, online version of the airplane-vs.-airplane modes of the classic Atari 2600 game Combat. And I rather like the sound of that.
If you like the sound of it, too, we've got good news: The game is now completely free. Nimbly staffer lamster posted on the game's forums earlier this week, explaining that they're making the move "strictly to attract new players; we will no longer make any money from Altitude." Well, that's generous of them.
Wednesday's patch also adds widescreen support to the game and updated the sound library to reduce latency, as well as adding several console commands.
Altitude offers seven different game modes and a wide variety of planes and pilot perks. If you're interested, check out the game here.
