Rainbow Six Siege Introduces New Operator And Cracks Down On Cheaters And Toxic Players
Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 1 is upon us.
Ubisoft has released a new Reveal Panel video showcasing what's coming to Rainbow Six Siege in Year 8 Season 1. With it comes a new Operator, new anti-cheat tech, an increased anti-toxicity initiative, balance changes, quality of life improvements, and more.
Brava is joining the squad from Brazil as the new Operator. Brava controls a drone which is like a small tank. It specializes in stealing and overheating defender gadgets.
Rainbow Six Siege's new anti-cheat is called Mousetrap and it's targeting players who use cheat widgets that are designed to be undetectable. The software has been running quietly in the background for several seasons, and lots of intel has been gathered on who is using cheats. Going forward, as cheaters are detected, extra latency will be added over time to take away the advantage cheats provide. The more times you cheat, the more latency you'll get. All you have to do to get rid of the latency is remove the cheat widgets.
Toxicity is an issue that affects most online games and Rainbow Six Siege is looking at its top offenders who will now receive a series of warnings to improve their behavior or face the consequences.
Balance-wise, the team is removing reload canceling from the game, taking away the ability to magically put your magazine back in the gun if you've chosen the reload action.
To assist in onboarding of new players, there will be beginner challenges added to the game. The system will teach players how to play each Operator and the Siege game mode. For new players, it will replace the battle pass tile in the menu.
