Ubisoft is set to release the "Heavy Mettle" update for Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 3 soon, according to MP1st. It features a new Operator named Ram, hailing from the South Korean Special Forces. She comes equipped with the Bu-Gi Auto Breacher, a powerful gadget capable of tearing through walls and floors, and Ram possesses the ability to remotely activate it from anywhere on the map. This update also brings new primary and secondary weapons, a commendation system allowing players to praise teammates and opponents, and a reputation page highlighting negative behavior.
The developers especially focused on balancing changes in this update. Frost's Welcome Mat trap will now impose a longer escape time and a more significant debuff effect, while Grim's launcher receives a buff and an alternative mode. Fuze's charge can now be deployed on shields, and shotguns are receiving an overhaul to enhance their reliability and performance. The update also includes new player tutorials and quality of life improvements, such as the ability to remove the HUD during match replays and the introduction of in-game patch note reading.
Game modes in the shooter are also getting adjustments, such as quick matches, the introduction of a pre-setup system for defenders, and an attacker protection mechanism providing invulnerability for the first 10 seconds of a round. A new arcade mode, Weapon Roulette, is being added too, which is a twist to Team Deathmatch gameplay. Players can preview and provide feedback on the upcoming changes via the Seasonal Test Servers, which open today.
