Punch, Kick, Slap With A Stop Sign...It's No Holds Barred In Epic Games' Upcoming F2P Battle Royale Rumbleverse
Yeah, we think it looks a lot like Fortnite without the guns, too.
The Game Awards continue and so do the announcements. This time we've got another free-to-play battle royale coming at you early next year. Epic Games and Iron Galaxy are dropping Rumbleverse in February 2022, specifically early access will start on February 8th.
The melee combat, colorful, tounge-in-cheek game pits 40 players into each match and will support crossplay/cross save on PC, PS4/5, and the XBox One/Series X/S. From an artstyle perspective, yes, we think the game looks a hell of a lot like the foolishness you may love in Fortnite...just without the guns.
If the game looks like something you want to jump into, there will be a special, invite-only beta starting tomorrow, December 10th. If you want to take part you'll need to sign up on the official site and get a little bit lucky.
Unlike some other Game Awards announcements though, we know a bit more about the title as a battlepass has been confirmed. Cosmetics in the cash shop is also on the list of confirmed items, as are Founder's Packs that will be available soon.
