Psyonix Details Rocket League Cross-Progression, Coming With F2P Update
When Rocket League goes free-to-play with its next update, you'll be able to keep your progress and inventory across all platforms, console or PC. And Psyonix has you covered, with a blog post detailing the exact steps you'll need to take to ensure the transition is smooth.
First and foremost, PC players will need to create an account on the Epic Games Store, since that's the only place you'll be able to play the game on PC. You'll then set a Primary Platform, which will be where you have the most progress. You can then connect other platforms -- PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch Online, or Steam -- and you'll be good to go.
Mostly. Platform-exclusive items, credits and esports tokens balances, and premium DLC will still be tied to their previous platforms. Psyonix is working to make that last part available cross-platform, but it won't be ready in time for the free-to-play update. In addition, players will only be able to trade items if they've purchased at least 500 Credits or purchased the game in full before it went F2P.
