PSA: Black Desert Online Is Free To Claim For Two Weeks
Black Desert Online is under new management, sort of. Developer Pearl Abyss has taken over publishing rights from previous publisher Kakao Games and to celebrate the move -- and the game's fifth anniversary -- it's making BDO free to claim and keep forever for two weeks.
From now until March 10, BDO has a 100% discount on Steam and the official website. Claim it from either source and it's free for you to play forever -- cash shop purchases notwithstanding. New and existing players can enjoy bonus login rewards during this period, as well as redeem the code "0225 WEARETHEONE!" for a bundle of items on PC or on console versions of the game.
A word of warning, though -- if you have an existing BDO account under the Kakao banner, you'll need to transfer it to the new Pearl Abyss-published version of the game before May 31 or you'll lose all your progress. Fortunately, Pearl Abyss has provided a handy video to help steer you through the process; you can find it at the end of this article or at this link.
