Project Xandata's Closed (To No One) Beta Starts Today
Today, IDC/Games kicks off the first round of closed beta testing for its free-to-play, 3v3 competitive shooter Project Xandata. The test runs over the next two weeks ending on May 7.
The game features 3 different modes, Skirmish, Annihilation, and Corruption. The first is a time-limited mode in which each enemy kill earns points for the team. The first team to reach the required amount of points wins. The second requires the winning team to completely wipe out the opposition (which won't be easy since there are revives). The third mode has players scoring points by collecting shards dropped by the enemy. The problem here is that the same points can also be collected by the fallen player's team mates, assuring the opposition doesn't benefit from them.
Since the closed beta will be done in waves, the developer has already promised more improvements for the first one -- mostly that the game will be localized for English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, and Turkish players. Those interested in participating in the test can log in via the Project Xandata site. It appears that all that's needed to participate is to have an account -- which kind of makes it not-exactly "closed". But, hey.
