Players rally around Project: Gorgon

Project: Gorgon, the MMORPG developed by Elder Game LLC, had a bit of a rough close to 2023. The team was working on an exploration-based MMO that focused on players forging their own story through the world. Players were free to build their character to their liking using a skill point based system rather than a class-based system.

While that type of project wouldn't be for everyone, of course, the project had a decent following and a free demo is available on Steam so you can check out if the game is for you before shelling out some cash.

Late last year, though, the team ran out of exactly that: cash. As 2024 kicked off, fans of the project united behind Project: Gorgon and raised about $30,000 to help the team continue work, even if that was only for a few more months.

Part of the team's plan was to reduce the MMORPG's $40 price to a more conservative $15 or so. Today, Project: Gorgon makes good on that promise and has announced a new $19.99 price.

The team has also reworked the number of character slots players get to coincide with this new price point. Buying in at $19.99 gets you 1 character slot. If you like what you see in game, you can expand that number of character slots a few different ways. Throw down a little cash on the slot expansion and you'll pick up 3 more character slots. You can also grab the game's optional subscription and that will add 4 slots as long as you subscribe. If you were part of the MMO's Legacy supporters, you'll get the character slot expansion automatically.

Currently Project: Gorgon sporting a "Very Positive" rating on Steam.
