Pokémon Unite Launches For Android And iOS Devices, Has Full Cross-play With Switch
Log in to mobile by Oct. 31 to receive Pikachu and a skin.
Pokémon Unite producer Hoshino penned a letter yesterday to fill players in the news regarding TiMi Studios' MOBA, which launched for Android and iOS devices today. Notably, the game offers full cross-platform play and account linking between mobile devices and the Nintendo Switch, letting you take your game -- and your progression -- with you regardless of your device.
Hoshino also talked a little bit about the items in the game, some of which have drawn pay-to-win complaints. There are new events that allow you to get super item enhancers that can upgrade a held item to grade 30, and it's generally easier for all Trainers to get enhancers. Additionally, you can now form squads to team up with fellow Trainers before heading into battle, and a limited Spectator Mode has been implemented.
There's also a new event to celebrate the mobile launch. Log into the mobile version of the game by October 31 to receive the Unite license for Pikachu, as well as the Festival Style: Pikachu Holowear skin and 1,000 Aeos Tickets. Mobile players can additionally receive the Unite license for Zeraora by winning a total of 32 battles.
Finally, there's a new battle pass for all players, and it's got an outer space theme. It's called Galactic Ghost 094 and offers Space Style skins for Gengar and Lucario. We're not sure why Pokémon are being launched into space, but being a ghost, you'd think Gengar wouldn't actually need a space suit.
