Planetside 2 gets frosty with the launch of Esamir continent

Sony Online Entertainment announced today that Planetside 2's second continent, Esamir, will be released to beta players this weekend. Unlike Indar (Planetside 2's other continent) Esamir is a far departure from the rocky hills, ravines, and moisture deprived areas of the past. Now players can expect ice to be the theme of the new continent. Esamir brings large expansive areas with ice mountains thrusting their pointy tops way into the skies.

Strategically Esamir's larger open areas mean longer travel times for players and so players can expect engagements to be more scare but much more crucial in achieving a victory at a certain point. Along with the new zone beta players can expect new weapons, new certifications, trench warfare, new UI changes, and more. Check out the video above for a chilling look at the new battleground.
