Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis's Large Frozen Resolution Update In June And Mini Updates Until Then
Get ready for more high rank sectors, an extreme challenge, and OG PSO2's 10th anniversary contests.
This morning SEGA hosted another of its NGS Headline streams offering Phantasy Star Online 2: NGS players a look at what to expect for the month of April. Between now and the arrival of May, PSO2:NGS players will have the chance to explore new high rank sectors, the Geometric Labyrinth, pick up new Scratch Ticket items, and – if you care about OG PSO2 (We know you do.) - celebrate its 10th anniversary. It’s a pretty decent list of new things.
Before we get to all that, however, there is a bigger – if somewhat less immediate – bit of news players will want to be hearing about. In June, players can expect a new major update titled “Frozen Resolution”. This update will introduce a new snowy area name Kvaris.
The new High Rank Sectors can be found in Retem on April 13. Specifically, Rank 3 with level 40 enemies will be waiting on the Maquead Lower Level. As for the Geometric Labyrinth, that will arrive on April 20. This is the game’s latest extreme challenge and can be attempted by up to four teammates. It can be accessed via the Trinitas Advanced Training System and will offer players a power-up for one of the weapons in the Potential of the Kukuhroziat Weapon Series. Other rewards include augments, accessories, Mags, and a color variant of Motion Change.
On the celebratory front, the celebration of OG PSO2’s 10th anniversary has already begun with the first of three different events. The first is an Item Design contest. This will last until May 10. The second is an illustration contest that will kick off on May 10 and run through June 14. And, the last event is a cosplay and craft contest – all online, of course. Submissions for this final contest will open on July 3. Players will have until July 24 to submit their entry via Twitter.
Finally, if you’re a content creator, a content creator program has been introduced just for you. Creators can be certified by the NGS team as NGS Official Creators. Once this status has been achieved, creators will become eligible for in-game rewards in exchange for spreading the word.
