Perfect World Releases New Gameplay Trailer for Legend of the Condor Heroes: Zero
Leave it up to Perfect World Entertainment, a company whose name regularly takes up a third of an article title, to release an action MMORPG with an even longer name, talk about a journalistic headache. Legend of the Condor Heroes: Zero is Perfect World's first in-house action MMO and currently, one which is only available in China. To be more specific, it isn't even available in China yet save for a limited testing period which began this week.
But this article isn't about the fact Legend of the Condor Heroes began it's initial testing phase. While nice to know, the US/EU release is still a ways off (if at all), but given Perfect World International's publishing record, it's fairly safe to assume the MMO is headed here soon after. As the title suggests, this article's purpose is to draw your attention towards the lovely new gameplay trailer PWI released to celebrate the game's test phase debut.
The trailer represents some of our first glimpses of the game's locales, UI, characters and of course, combo-infused combat in action. Observant readers may notice some of the zone designs appear to be closed off with what look to be instance portals at certain points in the gameplay. This suggests that at least some (but perhaps not all) of Legend of the Condor Heroes' gameplay may be leaning towards the dungeon-crawler style of zones found in other action MMOs like C9, with central hubs connecting them together.
Legend of the Condor Heroes: Zero is set in a period of Chinese fiction called "wuxia" and its story is inspired by the works of Jin Yong, one of China's best known fantasy writers.
