PC Controller Support Is Coming To Path Of Exile
Beta will be included in 3.17.3 patch, final release in 3.18.
If you've been playing Path of Exile on consoles over the past few years, you've probably gotten used to using a controller. If you then wanted to switch to using one on PC -- well, you're out of luck, since controllers aren't supported for that platform, but that will soon change, as the next patch, 3.17.3, will introduce beta functionality for console support.
Instructions for accessing the beta are simple enough, and spelled out in detail in the announcement post. Basically, just plug in your controller, start up Path of Exile, and change your input method. The functionality will stay in beta until 3.18 releases, which shouldn't be for another few months, giving Grinding Gear Games all the time it needs to iron out any bugs.
Also, if you've been enjoying Path of Exile's battle royale mode, you won't be too surprised to learn that there are esports competitions springing up around it. Last week, GGG partnered with Twitch Rivals to host a Path of Exile: Royale tournament, the highlights of which can be seen here. In one match, a player named Goratha got 22 kills. I've never played PoE: Royale, but if I did, I could totally get 22 kills. It would just take me 500 or so matches.
