PC And Console Players Can Now Hop Into New World: Aeternum...And Yes, The New Raid Has Fallen Already

I didn't expect it to last long given PC players having high-level gear still, but damn that was quick.

Today's the day that Amazon Games hopes will be the rebounding of New World as New World: Aeternum goes live on consoles and PC. As the MMORPG went live in other regions of the world already, there are some documented known issues, so if you're having any problems with launch here in the States now, make sure to check out the issues post. If you don't see your issue, go ahead and report it to the team.

The updated version of New World adds a number of new content pieces and revamps quite a bit of the existing game in this iteration. Those looking to take on new PvE challenges can tackle the "Hive of the Gorgons" raid with 3 boss challenges and a number of puzzles. Since PC players can jump right back into the action with their leveled characters (on Legacy servers), it probably isn't surprising to hear that this raid has already been downed overseas. MrMojito and friends tweeted out that they completed the raid in about 3 hours with a total of 15 pulls across all three bosses. I think we're going to go ahead and need some difficulty options added to that content very soon.

In other PvE content, new Soul Trials provide a daily 1-on-1 challenge fight against some of New World's more notable villains. Parties can also face off against the multiple expeditions (dungeons) available.

Over on the PvP side of things, the entire Cursed Mists PvP zone awaits as do arena battles. If you want more large-scale action, hit up Outpost Rush or Territory wars. Just remember, while the team made changes to target lock in PvP, they haven't removed the feature. Make sure you know how it all works now.

Now we wait and see if this gamble pays off. I would assume that things would initially go pretty well. Picking up the console audience will certainly help and a reworked leveling experience is nice (but I felt it was probably the least needed update). However, will PC players stay and will console players give the game a shot with the box price?
