PC-Based Game Creation Tool, Core, Is Expanding to iOS and Mac In The Summer
The move to Apple platforms could boost its viability even further.
Manticore Games announced today that their free PC-based game creation tool built on Unreal Engine, Core, is expanding to iOS and Mac this summer, with today marking the app's first anniversary on Epic Games Store. With a vast library of apparently 50,000 playable "games, worlds, and events," moving to Apple devices could boost the longevity and expansion of Core in the long run.
Thankfully, Manticore Games confirmed that cross-play functionality for iOS, macOS, and Windows versions of Core is in the works. And developers wanting to get started making games for mobile devices, you can begin working with a "suite" of iOS optimization tools right now. Making your own game across various platforms never felt so easy.
Following the big anniversary news, the fan-favorite social hub, Core Plaza, is back in Core's metaverse and has been revamped to reflect the joyous occasion. Much like a real-life festival, there will be minigames, live music, and an anniversary speech from the founders of the Manticore Games. From messing around with friends in the Bouncy Castle to jamming out in the Amphitheater, there's a place for anyone to wind down and vibe with some online players. This party is already underway.
You can check out Core's official site to learn more about the anniversary.
