Path Of Exile’s Sentinel Expansion Launches On PC Today
Oh, and MacOS too.
Today, PC and MacOS players can hop into the latest round of Path of Exile content. The game’s latest expansion, Sentinel was revealed a little over a week ago during the developer’s latest livestream. The new update introduces a new mechanic using the titular Sentinels – items that players can use to dictate the challenges in the content they’re doing. Of course, higher challenges mean higher rewards. And we all know Path of Exile players are down for that.
The other truly interesting part of the Sentinel update is the one thing that’s not changing. For the first time ever, Grinding Gear Games has elected to not change character power in an update. Rather, it will stay as it was in the previous expansion and they’re just going to see how it goes. If it turns out to be a poor decision, don’t worry, they’re prepared to fix that in the following expansion. If it works well, they may actually go with this every other expansion or so. We’ll just have to wait and see.
As noted, Sentinel is available on PC and MacOS today. As is generally the case, console players are going to have to wait a bit longer. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players...prepare yourselves for a launch on May 18.
