Path Of Exile Devs Celebrates New Year's By Reflecting On Expansion Launches And Announcements Throughout 2022
2023 will finally show more of the game's mobile version and Path of Exile 2.
Path of Exile saw plenty of content additions and several rounds of tweaking throughout 2022. To celebrate each big step, Grinding Gear Games put together a New Year's post on their website to reflect on everything that came out.
For starters, PoE launched four expansions: "Siege of the Atlas," "Sentinel," "Lake of Kalandra," and - more recently - "The Forbidden Sanctum." PoE also broke its concurrent player record last year, hiking up to 270,260 players playing simultaneously on the primary realm. Furthermore, Grinding Gear implemented official controller support for the PC version, added "Ruthless" mode, made Hex builds stronger against unique mobs, and more across 2022.
The year had its fair share of stumbles, though. PoE players were upset about a battle pass added earlier in the year, and the recent Kalandra League received a wave of backlash. Through it all, PoE had a productive year of ups and downs, and hopefully, the new year will see the game change for the better.
In 2023, Exilecon will be happening between July 29-30 in Auckland, New Zealand. The event will reveal details on the game's mobile version and the highly-anticipated Path of Exile 2.
