Obviously when a highly anticipated game launches, the developers are likely to have an influx of technical support requests. Path of Exile 2 hit early access in early December and quickly hit over half a million players on Steam. Those types of numbers would certainly lead to extra support needs. In a new post, Grinding Gear Games revealed just how much "extra" was on the plate for an already increased-in-size support team.

Since the end of November, GGG has received around 545,000 support requests and, despite having added headcount to the support team ahead of time, it just hasn't been enough to provide the service "you deserve."

That said, the team has worked the number of open requests down to about 75K, but they're still working as fast as they can and apologize to those, like us, that are still awaiting resolution on a ticket. In our case, we haven't even been able to start playing early access yet despite having paid for a founder's pack.

In our case, we linked our Steam pack to an old account only to find out that the account had been banned over 4 years ago. The account had apparently been hacked and banned in 2020, but it still let us link a Steam pack to that account with no warning. After finding that out, we appealed to have the characters on the account deleted (since they weren't ours) and have the account restored. Having our ban appeal denied, we then requested the Steam account be unlinked...something the team did eventually do. However the founder's pack is still on the banned account so our "new" account still doesn't have early access. We'd like to play the ARPG and hope the team will finish off our open request soon, but we shall see.

If you have an open issue still, the team advises that you do not send any follow-up emails as this will return you to the bottom of the queue. If you happen to be in New Zealand, GGG would love for you to apply to work with the support team if you're looking for a gig.
