Path Of Exile's Next Expansion Tentatively Revealed Aug. 20 And Launching Sept. 6
Expansions keep grinding ahead for Grinding Gear Games and Path of Exile. Today, the studio announced its plans for the as-yet-unnamed 3.8.0 expansion, its last before ExileCon in November, which should have everything "that you expect from a Path of Exile expansion."
A forum post provides a few details about 3.8.0, such as a new challenge league, improvements to older content, systems changes that the community have asked for, "like making Sulphite and Betrayal state shared between all your characters," and all the usual new items, skill gems, archetypes, and so on. All in all, it's not an earth-shattering announcement, but it makes sense for GGG to take it easy for this expansion, revving up the development process for the next two expansions, which will be revealed at ExileCon.
The announcement of the new expansion is set for Aug. 20, with launch currently planned for Sept. 6. Neither of those dates are set in stone, however. As with previous expansions, we'll be getting our usual preview of the set a little in advance, so stay tuned to MMOBomb around the 20th for the big reveal!
