Pantheon: Rise Of The Fallen Q&A Discusses Current Season Build, What's Coming In Season 2, And More
The Pantheon team answers community questions.
Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is preparing to head into Season 2 of testing soon, but until then there's a new patch in Season 1 today that comes with a character wipe.
In the latest Q&A, the team talks a little bit about what they're focusing on in Season 2 with things like nighttime and darkness in caves on the agenda.
The team wants to put a heavier emphasis on exploring and discovery. They reference World of Warcraft and how much world there is in the MMORPG, but because of the quest hub focus, you tend to not necessarily notice the world as much. Instead of exploring, players are more focused on finding their quest objective. They want Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen to be more about exploring and discovering things like special NPCs, world events, and a depth of world interaction.
Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen does have some very quest hub-esque areas for testing, but as they get further into development, those NPCs will be spread out more as they aren't really going for the quest hub approach.
They also talk about skills, such as climbing, and how those skills improve as you use them. The more you climb, the faster you'll climb and the less endurance it will take for you to climb. They say a lot of time is invested into developing these skills and the itemization needed to make these skills a reality. It's an example of how horizontal progression will work in the game.
While the UI is not a priority right now, the devs do state that the UI will be getting overhauled at some point down the road. They also discuss line-of-sight in the game and how they aren't happy with it right now, but aren't sure what exactly the fix will be.
This Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen Q&A is a long one, but you can watch the full thing in the video below.
