Pantheon: Rise Of The Fallen Is Getting A Surprise Pre-Alpha Session This Weekend
Includes all pledges that have the Alpha Testing perk.
If you've purchased a pledge for Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen that includes an Alpha Testing perk, you'll be able to play this weekend. In their January Producer's Letter, Pantheon announced a surprise Pre-Alpha session that will happen this weekend for a 24-hour period. It kicks off on January 27th at 10 AM PST. There will be a character wipe, so you'll need to roll up a new one, but you will be able to choose your server so friends can join up and play together.
Also in this month's Producer Letter was an update on what the team has been working on. Avendyr's Pass is a large zone that the team has broken up into three parts for development. The zones are Mad Run, Hanggore, and then what they refer to as the "orange" zone which consists of the rest of the map. Pantheon says that most of the terrain and biome are in place, while work continues on NPCs and caves.
The Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen team has also squashed a nasty character save bug that was plaguing the game, as well as completed modeling work on the Ogre race and concept art for the Orcs update. All creatures are getting a slight tweak that makes it easier to create recolors of them.
Animations continue to receive improvements and additions, as do combat visual effects. Balancing the resist system remains on the next to-do list as well.
Finally, the team is rolling out a new client patcher that significantly reduces download times.
In February Pantheon fans can look forward to a Pre-Alpha recap article on the 15th, a Developer Q&A on the 22nd, and the February Producer's Letter on the 29th.
