Pantheon: Rise Of The Fallen End Of The Year Producer’s Letter Updates The Game’s Roadmap Including 2022 Alpha
The AI is growing and becoming smarter...watch out!
You know the deal. It’s the end of the year, so that means end of the year wrap-up letters from game devs where they discuss everything that’s been happening over the last twelve months. The latest of these is the 2021 Producer’s Letter for Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. Overall, it seems like things went pretty well for the Visionary Realms team this year, as the letter covers funding received, content reveals, staff additions, and more throughout the year. The letter even notes the game receiving the accolade of Most Anticipated MMORPG from MMORPG.com.
Of course, those wanting to take a walk down MMO development memory lane with the devs can do so by reading the letter on the game’s site. You may also want to check out the update to the game’s roadmap contained in the same letter. This is the roadmap to alpha. Currently, the game is still on track for alpha in 2022, but there are still quite a few things that need to be done before the devs get there. That’s not to say that a lot hasn’t been done. Several things on the roadmap have been updated, and a few are even complete. These include NPC Combat awareness, which allows for advanced decision-making and tactics based on NPC knowledge, and asset and terrain streaming. That one is tech that supports the streaming of game assets.
That said, there are still plenty of things bearing the “To Do” banner, including work on pets, factions, swimming, and more. So obviously, we likely shouldn’t expect alpha in Q1 of 2022, but there’s still a whole 12 months to work with before the team misses their window.
