Palia Makes The Jump To PS5 And Xbox In May And Decided To Bring A Whole "Elderwood" Expansion With It
No, this doesn't mark an "official" launch.
Setting aside the whole "how long are you going to be in a beta status" debate that's been a thing since the F2P cozy MMORPG "released," Palia is set to drop a massive new expansion in May. Don't look at the expansion as a "launch" though, Singularity 6 isn't doing so. However, the free expansion, titled Elderwood, will see the game make its PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launch.
After layoffs and an acquisition by Daybreak Games, Elderwood marks the largest content update for Palia and it all arrives on May 13th. A new adventure zone unlocks plenty to explore as you navigate the highs and lows of the overgrown forest. The area should provide plenty of nooks and crannies to discover. Expect plenty of new creatures, new fish to catch, new story quests, new artifacts, and new ways to buff you and your friends.
Speaking of friends, yes, the new platforms will have parity with the current Steam and Switch versions of Palia, and cross play and cross progression will be available across all versions. Expect the PS5 version to take advantage of the light bar adaptive triggers, and even the PlayStation Portal if you want to play on the go.
If you don't have friends playing yet, there's a nifty bonus if you refer them to the game come May. Earn Elderwood Fun Guy plushies for getting some friends in game. 5 referrals will unlock the entire family of bouncy trampoline/plush fungi. They're damn cute.
The official post breaks down the entire plan if you're thinking about starting anew in the Elderwood.
