Paladins Season 6 Brings Back The Payload Mode, But Your UI May Look A Bit Different
New Frontline champion, Nyx, joins the battle. Abyss and all.
An all-new sixth season kicked off in Paladins today with the first of four Splits and an adorable new skin for Pip comes to the hero shooter. Inventor Pip has a cute new steampunk outfit that will be given to anyone who manages to win 100 ranked matches. Speaking of winning, if you did well in Season 5, start looking for your rewards.
The new season also sees the return of the Payload mode, so if you’ve been asking for it, get to playing it. The mode returns with a few exclusive maps; Ice Push, Outpost, and Jungle.
Other new additions in this update include a new Frontline Champion, Nyx, and a new event pass. Nyx is the Queen of the Abyss, and the new “Into the Abyss” event pass is built to match. Nyx was originally a Pyre Lord who pulled the Abyss – at the time her enemy – into a war. Now, she’s Queen of the Abyss.
Nyx specializes in short-range attacks and point control, making it hard for enemies to get close. She can fight with her bare fists, summon rifts and chains from the Abyss, and use a poison aura. As we said, she’s hard to get close to. No one wants to stand in that.
Of course, this update has plenty of other skins, emotes, poses, and more. There’s even a UI overhaul. Details can be found in the patch notes on the Paladins site.
