Paladins Addresses The Support Keyword Controversy And Why They Were Even Added To The Game In The First Place
There are some concerns from the players about Keywords.
Paladins developers admit there are some concerns about Keywords in the multiplayer hero shooter, but are hoping to alleviate some of those with the latest dev blog.
Keywords were the last in a large number of changes made in response to the hybrid Support and dual Support meta that dominated in 2022. They were implemented in an attempt to keep from ultra-nerfing supports out of useability. Since Support Keywords were implemented, the devs say that the dual support composition is a lot less prevalent in most areas of the game.
The initial feedback to Support Keywords wasn't high on praise, with many saying it felt detrimental to the Support characters in Paladins. Some of the issues brought up were determined to be bugs, not caused directly by the Keywords, and have been addressed.
Going forward Paladins devs want to keep the conversation open, and if feedback remains overwhelmingly negative after a while, they say there's nothing stopping them from just removing them outright.
You can read the full blog on the Support Keyword ideas over on the official Paladins site.
