Overwatch 2 Season 6 "Invasion" Now Live, Featuring The New Support Hero Illari
There's also new PvE content, and balance changes.
Overwatch 2 Season 6 — "Invasion" — is now live.
The shooter's new season includes a new PvP gameplay mode called Flashpoint, featuring large symmetrical maps where teams capture control points. It also introduces a new Support hero named Illari, who utilizes solar-based abilities, a railgun-style weapon, and healing turrets. In terms of PvE content, Invasion will bring three co-op story missions: "Resistance" set in Rio de Janeiro, "Liberation" set in Toronto, and "Ironclad" set in the new Gothenburg map.
Another Battle Pass is being introduced for Season 6 too, naturally. There’s skins, emotes, voice lines, and Overwatch Credits to be earned. There’s also the Invasion Bundle, providing access to story missions and a legendary skin.
The update will include balance changes for heroes as well. Notably, Cassidy's Magnetic Grenade is receiving tweaks, Torbjorn is getting buffs to his fire rate and weapon swap speed, and Lifeweaver's abilities are being adjusted. Full patch notes are up for you to review ahead of jumping in.

Note: Activision Blizzard has been sued by California’s Civil Rights Department, alleging violations of California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act and Equal Pay Act. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about the alleged violations within his company. These allegations have all been denied by Activision Blizzard and the company points to additional diversity and inclusion training as past examples of taking the accusations seriously at the time they were made.
