Overwatch 2 Executive Producer Leaves Blizzard, Will "Take Some Time Off"
Blizzard's chief legal officer has also departed.
Two more high-profile employees of Blizzard have left their posts in recent days. While neither have been explicitly connected to the legal issues the company or its parent, Activision, finds itself embroiled in, it's hard not to link the departures to that ongoing situation.
First, and most notable for gamers, is the departure of Chacko Sonny, the executive producer for the upcoming Overwatch 2, who will be leaving the company at the end of the week. In response to its inquiry about Sonny's departure, Polygon was told that Sonny "is leaving Blizzard to take some time off after 5 years of service." That wording makes it sound like Sonny could return at a later juncture.
Also departing the company is Claire Hart, who had been Blizzard's chief legal officer for the last three years. Hart made the announcement via her LinkedIn page, saying that she departed last Friday, September 17 and that she'll "be taking a short break before making my next move." She also mentioned that her years at Blizzard "have been full of unexpected twists and turns," which is quite the understatement.
