Overwatch 2 Tank Improvements

Tanks in Overwatch 2 are getting burned down very quickly or being moved around too easily by displacement abilities according to the latest Overwatch 2 Director's Take. To combat this, there are a couple of changes coming for tanks in the shooter once the midseason update hits.

The tank passive is being buffed to have a 25% damage reduction to headshots to help keep them from being burst down in a fight. Knockdown resistance is also being increased for tanks from 30% to 50% to help them hold the front line better.

The devs are also reverting the Armor damage reduction back to reducing five damage per projectile with up to a 50% maximum. This makes it harder for Armor Reduction specialists to melt big beefy tanks.

Also changing is the HP recovery Passive. The health regeneration passive for all heroes will no longer recover 20 HP per second out of combat but instead recover 10 Health + 5% of their maximum HP per second. This means a hero like Reinhardt will recover their health at 45 health per second in a Role Queue match.

Two individual changes the Overwatch 2 Director spoke about in this update were that Junker Queen is getting a buffed Commanding Shout with a reduced cooldown and the ability to cast it even if you're channeling another ability. The second is that Wrecking Ball is getting a slight buff to Grappling Claw damage, Piledriver is getting increased movement lockout, and Minefield is getting explosion damage and knockback buffs.

You can see all the details for yourself if you'd like over on the official Overwatch 2 site.
