Overwatch 2’s Broken Ice Wall Ability Has Mei Off The Roster And Back To The Workshop
The character is said to return on November 15.
First Overwatch 2 took away Bastion and Torbjorn for updates, and now Mei has been taken away after players report issues with her ice wall ability. The bug was allowing heroes to reach unintended locations, but the character should be back in the next upcoming patch set for November 15 which also addresses other hero balance changes.
Mei’s character in the original Overwatch was a force to be reckoned with, however as she is no longer able to freeze opponents, she has been seen as one character with the biggest nerf from the original game. Others are also reporting that Mei has a number of other bugs that are making her far less powerful, and thus are asking Blizzard to change them, one Reddit user even displayed these issues in a video.
I am not sure if the issues other than the ice wall fix will be addressed come November 15, but with December bringing Season 2, players can probably look forward to some of their favorite characters receiving well-needed buffs.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
