Orcs Must Die! Unchained Officially Launches, Adds Sabotage Semi-PvP Mode
Orcs Must Die! Unchained is one of those "Wait, it's still in beta? I thought that game launched forever ago!" games. Well, today's the day that OMDU graduates from ... OMDU ... U? ... and enters the gaming workforce as a full-fledged release.
The 2.0 release is now live, a day earlier than its initially announced launch date of April 19. It brings with it a new game mode, Sabotage, which brings a pseudo-PvP mode to the game. Two teams fight against the usual horde of orcs and other baddies, while sabotaging the other team's lanes with potions, scrolls, and spells.
A new ranked system has also been added, both for individual players and guilds. There's a new scoring system, too, crafted with the "hope to align perceptions of performing well with higher scores." Other feedback-related changes include a new, single-click, chest-opening sequence and the replacement of enemy heroes with mercenaries.
You can read the full patch notes on the Orcs Must Die! Unchained site. Also, take a look at some developer-slanted stats from open beta, as posted by the OMDU team on Twitter. That's a lot of coffee!
