Open Beta 8 Brings SMITE 2 God Builder Tools, Kali, And "Firebrands" For You Solo Laners
This is just the first iteration of the God Builder and new features will be coming soon.
Open Beta 8 starts for SMITE 2 today and that means the F2P MOBA is seeing a few new items, balance changes, a new ported god, and a highly-requested feature. The new feature comes in the way of a "God Builder" tool. Now you can layout your favorite loadout for any given god before matches even begin. Save the loadouts, export them for friends, import that build you saw someone else run, and even replace the "recommended" build in a match by pinning your preferred build if you like.
You'll still have to manually select the right items and upgrades for now, though. A future update to the God Builder will introduce auto-building and auto-leveling.
On the god side of things, Kali makes the leap from the original game to the sequel today. The Goddess of Destruction's blades are sharpened and ready to stun foes and siphon their health away. When the physical damage gets too high, hit that ultimate, Destruction, and make yourself immune to death while slowing down enemies and dealing periodic damage over time.
Conquest gets a bit of a fiery update thanks to "Firebrands." These new enemies spawn in pairs and offer you solo-laners, junglers, and mid-laners a new way to grab some more power. Be careful. Taking one out will enrage the other one. Taking them out is a nice way to grab the buffs normally bestowed by downing Fire Giants.
The update comes with a slew of blanace changes and some additional offerings in the store (including Easter skins) that are detailed in the full patch notes.
