Old School RuneScape Summer Summit Showcases Sailing Skill, Returning Events, And New Expansion
The future is looking bright for Gielinor.
Sailing! Leagues! Varlamore!
The Old School RuneScape Summer Summit happened this past weekend, showcasing upcoming updates and events. Two of the MMORPG's fan-favorite limited events were unveiled, a lock-in poll for the new Sailing skill was introduced, and we got a glimpse of an area called Varlamore, set to open its doors to players in 2024.
Sailing has progressed to the point of community involvement through a lock-in vote. If successful, the skill will undergo full development, featuring a vast ocean expanse for exploration. Customizable ships with various facilities will be used to train the skill, allowing players to command increasingly larger vessels.
The Deadman Apocalypse event also makes a return, featuring competitive gameplay and a $25,000 prize pool. Leagues 4: Trailblazer Reloaded returns as well, offering time-limited challenges with boosted XP and unique tasks later this year.
And last but not least, Varlamore is an expansion that launches in early 2024. It promises a new kingdom filled with bosses, skilling activities, quests, and the Hunting Guild. Multiple updates will introduce Varlamore content, starting with two quests at first that mark the beginning of an all-new storyline.
