Now's Your Chance To Playtest New Open-World Sandbox Survival Game Soulmask
It's available on Steam until May 10.
Are you down for a new open-world sandbox survival game?
If you answered yes, then consider taking part in Soulmask’s global playtest — which takes place from today until May 10 on Steam. The recent demo for the game saw over 180,000 players and a cumulative 470,000 hours spent exploring the game.
This new one, though, introduces enhanced tribal management features, making the tribesmen more lifelike and responsive. They now exhibit behaviors like complaining about food shortages and dancing in their downtime. Also, the developers over at CampFire Studio have focused on combat and UI optimizations based on community feedback.
Another addition in this playtest is the new tyrant-level creature, the anaconda. There’s even new weapon skills, as well as controller support. Participants in the playtest will receive an exclusive limited mask appearance as well, which can be redeemed in the Early Access version of the game. This mask can be obtained by launching the official PvE server during the playtest or by following specific steps in the solo or co-op modes.
One of Soulmask's key features is gameplay revolving around masks, where players can control NPCs by possessing them and transforming into different characters with unique abilities. The game also emphasizes dynamic tribal management, allowing players to recruit and manage up to 20 tribesmen with distinct personalities and skills. Soulmask offers a physics-based combat system with 8 weapon types and 75 skills, enabling players to customize their combat style with specialized weapon abilities.
The game is expected to launch in the second quarter of this year, and Soulmask’s wishlist has already grown to over 250,000.
