Not Only Is World Of Warships Celebrating 9 Years, But The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Just Became Commanders
Shredder and Krang are coming along for the ride, and so are some great camos.
It's once again time to set sail and gather up a ton of Festive Tokens, earn base XP, or gather some extra steel as World of Warships celebrates its 9th anniversary. Log in to the strategy game and take your Tier 5 and above ships for a quick jaunt around the battlefield and net Festive Tokens to be used on special anniversary rewards. Interestingly, the system has a number of mechanics that allow you to gain tokens for ships you have in your fleet, too. You don't even have to take them out to sea to earn their rewards. Even experience rolls down so there's nothing wasted. The video below takes you through all the details and available rewards, but you can also check out the full post on the Warships site.
In addition to a celebration, today sees the Pan-American Battleships hit early access. While the Pan-American tech tree becomes available for all players, you'll have to do a little bit of work and earn some tokens and doubloons to earn the ships. On the line are the VIII IPIRANGA, the IX LOS ANDES, and the X LIBERTAD. There's even a unique combat mission for those of you that have at least one of these ships. Take it on to earn a unique Brigantine "25 de mayo" flag. If you're looking for a new Commander, there's one of those, too. Joaquim Marques Lisboa can command your Pan-American vessels.
As if that wasn't enough, Operations get some changes to the Tiers that hit the waters, with the team expanding the range to 1 tier in either direction. For example, if you queue with a Tier 8 ship, you can be matched with Tier 7 through Tier 9 ships.
Finally, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming to Warships. Yes, you read that right. All four turtles, Shredder, and Krang are added as commanders, and new camos, flags, and a patch are out there just waiting to be snagged.
Yeah, it's a lot. Luckily it's all broken down in the videos below. Enjoy the anniversary!
