To Nobody's Surprise, Some Of Warframe's Helminth-Infused Abilities Are Getting Nerfed
Whenever we've talked about Warframe's upcoming Helminth system on the Free-to-Play Cast, we've mused about its potential for making overpowered builds. To recap, the Helminth will let you take an ability from one Warframe and stick it onto another. While it sounds cool, it also sounds like it could make for combos that Digital Extremes never could have imagined and that players are sure to exploit at every opportunity.
After some testing, Digital Extremes seems to agree. Various Warframes have had their copied abilities nerfed. Specifically, the Rhino, Mirage, Valkyr, Protea, Nidus, and Wukong have all seen their abilities reduced in effectiveness. As stated on the forums:
It was apparent in player feedback and play testing that these Infused Warframe Abilities had the potential to be the overwhelming choice; which is not ideal. Instead of changing the Ability outright due to those concerns, we decided to give them slight rules when Infused.
We're betting this won't be the last time Helminth-infused abilities see some tweaks. On the bright side, the Mastery Rank Prerequisite of the Helminth Segment has been lowered from 15 to 8. So you'll at least begin to be able to start feeding your Warframes to your Helminth a little sooner -- even it it won't provide quite the power boost you were initially hoping for.
