Nexon Announces Public Alpha Test For New Vindictus Game, Vindictus: Defying Fate
The test will include changes based on feedback from the March pre-alpha test.
Today, Nexon announced a public alpha test for the next game in the Vindictus IP, Vindictus: Defying Fate. The test will take place on Steam in June and feature changes applied following the March pre-alpha test.
At present, we don’t know if the game will be free-to-play or not or what its monetization will look like, as the FAQ on the action RPG’s website notes that monetization hasn’t been finalized. That said, the game is from Nexon, and the original Vindictus game is F2P, so it’s possible the same will be true for this game as well.
Vindictus: Defying Fate is built in Unreal Engine 5 and, according to the press release, “features high-quality graphics and delivers a unique combat experience defined by perfectly timed dodges, powerful counters, and impactful strikes”. During the alpha test, players will be able to access four playable characters and companion NPCs will aid them in battle. This will also be the first chance to test the game’s multiplayer raids, village and inventory systems, and new progression mechanics.
Signups for the test are not available yet, but players are encouraged to wishlist the game on Steam in order to stay informed.
