Mounts Are Coming To New World's Outpost Rush And Here's What You Need To Know
The day finally draws near.
Mounts are coming to the Outpost Rush game mode in New World, and this week's episode of Forged in Aeternum focuses on that new addition. Mounts were in OPR in the expansion PTR but didn't make it to the live game due to some concerns. The dev team has been making changes and doing internal testing, and now feel they have ironed out the kinks with mounts in OPR.
The primary purpose of mounts in OPR is to get you in the fight faster. The devs believe it will change the strategy of OPR a bit, especially with the ability to get to the far away bases quicker.
Mount performance issues in OPR have been addressed and, added to the combat improvements, will make for a better experience. The team will be monitoring to see what impact mounts will have in OPR. You have to be fully out of combat to be able to mount, so you'll still be on foot a lot during OPR and players will not be mounting up and running away mid-fight.
There will be no immediate changes to the OPR map for mounts, but there is a team in place that has plans for the OPR map, but they aren't talking about those plans at this time.
