New World Is Removing Wards And Banes While Buffing And Adding Other Perks
Reducing the amount of required perks and allowing for more freedom in builds.
New World is reworking its gearing system in the upcoming expansion, and with that comes the removal of Wards and Banes from the MMORPG. Wards and Banes are monster-type-specific buffs that are all but required right now to do advanced dungeon Mutations. Ward perks in particular will be replaced with new utility Perks including Health. Banes, which do more damage to specific monster types, seem to just be going away.
The idea is to provide more freedom in builds and the ability to choose perks that match your playstyle instead of having a required set of perks to do certain content.
During this process, other perks will be tweaked to improve performance, while some new perks, like the above-mentioned Health, will be added, as well as more viable healing buffs. Ward potions will also be tweaked to last an entire dungeon run, instead of just one fight. It all comes with the expansion launch currently slated for the Fall of this year.
