New World PTR Opens Up To Players Today, Including New Expedition Mutators
It is limited-availability, so you’ll want to get in early.
Amazon is ready to do its next round of New World PTR testing, and they’re ready to do it now. Or, rather, a couple of hours from the writing of this piece. The PTR will go live at 2:00 pm Pacific time (10:00 pm UTC). The server space is limited, with one world available for US East and one for Central Europe. It will need to be downloaded, via Steam, if you don’t already have it by virtue of having the main game.
During this PTR, Amazon plans to test a new end-game feature titled Expedition Mutators. These are intended to add variety to the game by changing encounters with “Normal” and “Named” enemies in expeditions. They also change the rewards received for taking on these challenges, which should make them worthwhile. When put into action, they should rotate through a unique combination each week with 10 difficulty levels per Expedition Mutation and players will be able to work their way up the ladder to hit max difficulty. Since this is intended to be a challenge, things like gear score will count. A lot.
If you’re interested in taking part in the current PTR, you’ll want to check out the official post on the New World site for all the pertinent information. If you don’t want to read the entire post, there is a shiny FAQ at the bottom.
