New World Players Are Finally Getting Those Server Merges
Of course it means downtime, but it should be worth it.
Okay, New World players. You’ve been asking, and asking, and asking for it. Finally, you’re getting it. Server merges are happening today. Of course, this means bringing the servers down. After Amazon pushed the schedule back a bit, the current schedule is as follows. Central Europe’s merges will begin at 1 AM Paris time on the 18th. For everyone else, the process will begin at 3 PM Central Time.
Amazon has provided a list of servers being merged, but we don’t know exactly how long the whole process will take. That’s something else they’ll be keeping players informed of on the forums. Both those things aside, if any players do have questions about the process, the team did post a handy FAQ addressing things like what to expect when a server merge happens. It should be noted that at least one of the answers is an “in an ideal world” kind of thing. Just because the developers don’t expect something to happen doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t. Set your expectations accordingly.
If you are on one of the servers being merged, we’ll keep our fingers crossed everything goes without a hitch for you. May you next log into a thriving server with all your things intact.
