Want To Test Out The New Void Gauntlet Weapon? You Can, As New World Now Has A PTR
Get in there and start giving feedback.
Here’s some good news for New World players: Amazon Games is launching a public test realm. According to the post announcing the new feature, Amazon Games has a myriad of changes planned for the game and they’d like to make sure they’re up to snuff. That means one thing; testing. As of today, PTR servers are officially open on a limited basis. Currently, there’s one US East and one Central Europe PTR. They’ll be open to players for a specific period, after which time the servers will be wiped. Obviously, don’t get attached to your PTR character.
If you’d like to participate in the PTR, the process is simple. It will be rolling out throughout the day, so you may have to just keep checking for it but, before the day ends, everyone with a New World account will find “New World Public Test Realm” in their Steam library. You’ll need to download this separately from the live game. Once that’s done, hop in and test the latest preview version of the game. Of course, Amazon does expect feedback, which you can do via the new PTR sub-forum.
In this round of PTR testing, players will have the opportunity to check out new missions and mobs, including the new Varangian Raiders, the Withered Swarmancer, Pirate Alligators, and more. Also being tested are the New Legendary Weapon quests, improved storyline quests, PvP, and more. Details on each of these, as well as a PTR FAQ can be found on the New World site.
As noted above, when the test period is over, the servers will shut down and be wiped. The game will still remain in your library, however, so the next time a test rolls around, you’ll be ready to go.
