New World's Next Trial, The Winter Rune Forge, Should Be a Tad Easier To Tackle In A Pick-Up Group
This 10-player Trial is intended to be a little more casual than the Sandwurm.
Today the New World devs released a sit-down deep dive into the new Trial coming to the MMORPG; The Winter Rune Forge. Players will delve down into the Winter Rune Forge to take on a pair of bosses that offer a unique challenge and updated rewards to players who complete the Trial.
The first thing players will run into is a Rune Puzzle. Pay attention as this encounter will teach you important mechanics for later on. There will be some randomized enemy waves to take on after that, followed by a mini-boss. As you do damage to this mini-boss, it splits into smaller versions of itself that must be kept separated in a two, maybe three, tank fight.
From there you'll fall through the ice to the main arena of the Trial where the next boss, the Ice Guardian, lies. This New World boss can create clones of itself that possess portions of its power. All the while, players will be keeping up with the hypothermia mechanic and trying to stay warm.
Overall, this Trial should be a little more PUG-friendly than the Sandworm trial.
The Winter Rune Forge can drop items up to item level 700 and the Tempest Fury Artifact great axe. There is a pity ticker for the Artifact, so you will be able to get the new Artifact after so many runs of the Trial.
